Lovin' Life

It's hard to really focus on you and create an atmosphere where you feel comfortable mentally through the busyness that is life. I struggle with this so often but always have to remind myself that there are ways to reconnect with myself and my happiness whether it's me doing something drastic with my time or something that takes two seconds to do. I've gathered up some things that I do to make myself feel more comfortable and less stressed on a day-to-day basis and I'd like to share them...
1) Baths
Many people aren't bath people, but I am one of those who is obsessed with them. If you're taking one to destress, really make an effort and make it a priority. Not only do you feel good and fresh after, this should be your alone time to just relax and think. Light candles, bring some water or a snack, USE BUBBLES, play music (and sing along to it), create a whole face cleansing routine. It'll be something you'll look forward to.
2) Music
Maybe the stress is coming from the type of music you're listening to. If you're feeling sad or upset, instead if looking for sad music, try something that will lighten your mood. I know sometimes you need to cry and need help with it so you look specifically for sad songs, but sometimes, for myself, I just need a little cheering up and a little bit of "you'll be ok" instead.
3) Clean/redo your room
A messy room for me is a MAJOR red flag. I will get completely disorganized and easily upset if it's messy. When you organize your space, your mind will then do the same thing. Also, rearrange your room now and then. Something new or moving old furniture to spice it up will create a new outlook.
4) Working out
Create a routine or a habit of this. Find an easy or difficult workout that fits into your schedule whether it's a 10 minute workout or an hour.
5) Videos and Podcasts
When I want to destress or am bored (yeah there are books you can read, which I am NOT bashing may I say, but sometimes I like to sit back and watch or listen), I go to things like YouTube and Netflix and find something new or an old favorite to watch. YouTube is kind of my reality tv in a way where I always want to catch up on what I've missed. But if I'm feeling like my eyes can't take it anymore, I completely recommend listening to podcasts. Find the right one and you'll be listening to it on a daily basis.
6) Food
Food is one of the biggest factors to de-stressing and feeling good. Making sure you're eating as clean as need be for your body is extremely important. So look into what your body needs and go from there.
7) Pinterest
Apps like Pinterest are SO AWESOME. They help you organize your new thoughts and ideas and help you remember old ones. I've made categories such as food, work outs, clothes, ...... tattoo ideas...... and so on. It helps me stay organized just like lists can, which I also recommend.
8) Outside
Go outside...
9) Self care
Self care is just as important as anything else. Making sure you're feeling your best is a key to succeeding. It can cost a lot of money to go to a spa or get your nails done, but there are cheaper ways to do these things on your own. If you are one to get your nails done all the time, try using a nail kit that comes with over 100 nails to create your own that you can purchase at a drug store for no more than $7. Get some face masks now and then. Buy good shampoos and conditioners that don't dry your hair out. And men especially... please take care of your skin. Moisturize now and then, it's good for you ;).
10) Job
This one is a bit hard for me to talk about because I really do like my job at the moment but I know I won't have it forever. It's hard to leave a job that you don't like because you're afraid of what could come after leaving, but if you are unhappy with it, change it. Don't sit around waiting for a
new opening that "you didn't know you wanted until you saw it". You do have to put in effort. It's hard, I'll be the first to say it, but it must be done for your sake.
11) Ask questions and ask for help
No one knows everything this world has to offer, so that's why you talk to people and ask questions. You'll end up going crazy if you keep to yourself and pretend you know everything. When you ask questions and ask for help, so much weight will roll off your shoulders.
12) Think
Sometimes sitting or laying alone with your own thoughts will make you go crazy, but in doing so, sometimes thinking about the universe and questioning whats out there or what's going on in life will broaden your spirituality whether you think so or not. Be open to other's opinions and ideas and create your own from what they say. Go into deep thought on your own on what you've gathered and choose what seems right to you. You may think you're going crazy at the moment, but in the long run, you'll be more open to what people have to say.
13) Stop beating yourself up
One thing that destroys people the most is the fact that they beat themselves up all the time. I've been known to do this and it makes me miserable. Take it easy and remember that every single person on this planet makes mistakes. Don't be too hard on yourself.
14) Weight
I found this very interesting post on Facebook that I'll leave here to end this post and I won't take up any space to describe it other than it is about weight and I encourage everyone to take a look at it. (This goes for guys, too) Have a nice week, everyone :)
