I haven't taken a "real" math course since my junior year of high school which was Algebra 2 I believe... I'll be the first to say math and science are not my thing. I have this thing in the back of my head saying "you're suppose to like math and science... you're suppose to know how to do it all... you're suppose to remember it all". If that was the actual case, you'd see me with no hair because I would have pulled it out from all the stress. Do not get me wrong, math and science are EXTREMELY importance in society, like if my brain could hold all that information, even if I didn't enjoy it, I'd probably be in some sort of science or math field and pursuing it... but I'm not smart like that. I'm smart in other ways, I'd say. What's just as important as math and science is art and being creative. Science and art even go hand in hand especially now days. I remember I read a book in high school called "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert M. Pirsig and the book's main focus was that there is a "romantic" set of people and a "classical" set. The "romantic" type focuses on the art and beauty of the motorcycle in the story, for example, the Narrator's friend, when his brand new bike breaks down or needs repairing, gets frustrated and/or hopes for the best. A "classical" view is shown in the book as the Narrator. He constantly is fixing his older bike himself and really grasps the mechanics behind it all. Since there are two separate types of people, there has to be an in-between... While this book was published in 1974, there seems to just be a clean cut view that's pretty black and white with just the two types of people. What I've learned is that you can be both "romantic" and "classical". If we're looking back at the book and motorcycles, there could be someone who focuses on their bike and knows all the mechanics behind it, and yet also finds beauty in it as a "romantic". This whole idea is a bit off topic from what I'm trying to explain, but I give it to you to explain more options to help you think of who you might be.

What I'm trying to say and get at is that there isn't one type of person, obviously, duh... but rather there are billions. Everyone is different. Not everyone is going to get a job for NASA, not everyone is going to come up with cures for major diseases, and not everyone is going to find an unknown species. The little entertainers and artists and performers matter, as well. People like me are NOT going to become math professors or even attempt a full on experiment on creatures that live in the ocean (especially that because I do not like sharks, thank you). And if you are going to do that stuff or stuff like it, that's great! Do it! I do wish you the best because it my head, that'd be impossible for brain to do, but for you, it's probably or could be something you could handle, and I believe that. This post is not suppose to make you shy away from the heavy thinking that is involved in the maths and sciences. It's just suppose to inform you that if you're feeling out of place because you think "wow, if I go into liberal arts or something not 'smart', I won't achieve anything". That, my friend, is false information and to whoever told you that, you are uneducated. There are activists who change the world. There are artists who create a peaceful, decretive atmosphere in you're house that you don't even think about. There are singers and actors who do their jobs for you to stay sane throughout you're day. There are even people on YouTube who help you calm down without you even noticing. NBA players or NFL players who keep us excited when we watch them play. These are the people that help you throughout you're life. The "romantics" who find joy in making people smile or laugh or just feel. Yes, a lot of them do get a great amount of recognition, but for the wrong reasons. And yes, the people who are scientists and mathematicians should 100% get way more recognition than they get now. Society has flipped these two sides and both should be combined into one. Performers and artists should be seen as people who help heal others. Emphasis on "people" because that's who they are. And people who are in the science of math field should be more known rather than just brushed to the side.

All in all, be who you feel you should be. Don't pretend to be someone you don't what to be. Don't be ashamed for not passing Chemistry or if Calculus just isn't your thing. You have a whole lot of other options. Shoutout to my High School Musical fans when I say DON'T stick to the status quo. Be "classical" and "romantic" or be one or the other because it's your life. Not your parent's, not your boyfriend or girlfriend's, not your sibling's, it's yours.

I like being creative because I feel like it helps me connect more with people and I think that's why people trust me and tell me things because I listen. I don't judge, I don't shame and I'm an open book. I'll tell you my thoughts and opinions and you can take them or leave them. I'm not very book smart, but I know how some of the world works. I'm not as wise I want to be quite yet...

And you, editing your photographs in your room to sell... I'll buy two.
